Beschrijving

Genua, 1943. Teglio Massimo is een graag geziene gast in kringen van de Italiaanse elite. De jonge piloot is persoonlijk bevriend met Italo Balbo, de fascistische Minister van Luchtvaart onder Mussolini. Massimo aanvaardt de uitdaging om per watervliegtuig naar Milaan te vliegen en zo een medicijn te brengen dat het leven zal redden van een hoge Nazi. Vliegen is zijn lust en zijn leven, maar deze missie volbrengt hij met tegenzin. Want Teglio Massimo is Joods. Wanneer de commandant van de Duitse troepen in Genua ontdekt dat Massimo een Jood is, geeft hij opdracht hem te arresteren. Massimo weet te ontkomen. En wanneer de massadeportatie van de Joden van Genua op gang komt, kan de moedig piloot niet machteloos toekijken?.
