Beschrijving

Ffynnon Garw, een idyllisch dorpje in Wales, tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog. Reginald Anson en George Garrad, twee landmeters van de Britse topografische dienst, arriveren in het dorp om te controleren of de plaatselijke berg wel aan de eisen voldoet om als zodanig in kaart te kunnen worden gebracht. Duizend voet hoog moet hij zijn om als berg te kunnen worden opgetekend. Hij meet echter slechts 984 voet en is derhalve niet meer dan een heuvel. De dorpsbevolking beslist om de heuvel op te hogen met de vereiste twintig voet.
