Beschrijving

In deze bloedstollende special raakt het speurdersduo Andy Dalziel en Peter Pascoe betrokken bij de jacht op een seriemoordenaar. Na elke moord vindt de politie op de plek van het misdrijf een ‘dialoog’: een stijlvol geschreven en zorgvuldig geïllustreerd document waarin de gepleegde gruweldaad tot in detail wordt beschreven. Elke dialoog bevat ook steeds allerlei intrigerende hints en aanwijzingen. Naarmate er meer slachtoffers vallen, windt de pers zich steeds meer op en begint paniek zich meester te maken van de plaatselijke bevolking. Dalziel, Pascoe en hun nieuwe teamgenoot DC ‘Hat’ Bowler zoeken wanhopig naar aanknopingspunten die hen op het spoor van de dader zouden kunnen zetten. Maar wanneer er zelfs nieuwe moorden worden gepleegd bij gelegenheden waar de politie nadrukkelijk aanwezig is, begint het een hopeloze zaak te lijken….
